The art characteristics appeal to sense and intellect.It activates sensory perceptors for colour ,shape ,texture,space etc.
Formal Properties
A sense of organic unity .Unity in variety through repetition and attraction.The distribution of elements for example shapes ,coarse texture angularity.Equillibrum balance through static ,symetrical and assymetrical dynamic or stracato arrangements
Expressive properties
Art possesses presentational and motaphorical characteristics which depict people ,trees ,celebrations dreams ,historical happenings and cultural indeprndence to evoke mood.
Technical properties
Encompass knowledge of how artwork was created for example painting and carving.Media used metal ,paper etc.
