An estimated 180 million people worldwide have diabetes. The figure is almost 3% of the world pouplation of the people who always not at ease with type 2 diabetes which cause body's inability to adequately use insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas to maintain the standard of glucose from the food eaten. The unregulated sugar levels when become very high can be a threat to eyes,kidneys,nerves,heart and major arteries.
This chronic condition is often found to be associated with consumption of poor balanced diet and lack of proper exercises which stretch body muscles to consume excess sugar generated.
British researchers according to Reuters reviewed six earlier cases on diabetes and the consumption of fruits and vegetables. The studies found that green leafy vegetables reduce adult risk of getting type 2 diabetes by 14% .
However the findings don't directly proved that vegetable can prevent diabetes. But people who oftenly eat green leafy vegetables like spinach,cabbage,covo,broccoli ,okra,rape are healthier,combined with good exercise and financial stability than those who don't include green leaves on their tables.
In Zimbabwe most of the vegetables are grown in rural areas under the traditional methods where the farmer use cow,poutry ,goats or sheep wastes as the source of fertility to produce big greener leaf through frequent watering using hand cane especially in dry season.
Although because of overall economic hardships some of the urbanites used to clear a portion on their backyard and plant some plants to supplement their daily meals.
Generally eating more of green leaf is found poor and noble idea.
But according to Patrice Carter of the diabetes research unit at Leicester University says,"the data suggest that green leafy vegetables are key," Now is the time for Zimbabwe Diabetes Association to encourage its members to grow and eat a lot of vegetables for the ease of this disease.
The British medical journal which cover people from China,Finiland and United States in a sample of 200 000 people of age range from 30-74 proves the best of fruits and vegestable in their health and green leafy is more exciting in the way they help diabetic people.
Green leafy are not difficult to produce especially for family consumption as it only demands a small portion ,good water source and animal manure from our domesticated livestork. If the householder don't have animal can buy it,its cheaper than inorganic fertilsers.By growing your own vegetables is the form of much needed exercising taking part. Above all you can be happy to see the green plants' beautiful decoraction ,thus giving you good serenity for health and wellbeing.
