The hard working skilled sculptors according to Ms Lunga the Marketing and sales director at the gallery who personally deals with chick sculptures specifically for the Netherlands Market says most of the buyers help them to earn a living in the deep harsh rural area of Guruve.
Sanganai Art Gallery is about 200 kilametres North -west of Harare and the gallery is getting popular with European and American buyers who turned their artworks into a profitable venture in the community.
The gallery is now go on further helping the community as the build two classroom blocks at Nyanhunzi primary school and five boreholes around the whole community. Their community development initiative comes after the sculptors agreed to donate one piece each sold in Netherlands then the money pumped back into their community development.
The gallery's plans is to expand community development ,if more buyers come to buy their sculptures they has a plan to provide the primary school with atleast a borehole since the school staff and children are hardly in problematic situation to walk 3 kilometres to fetch clean water.
The school needs $13000 to be connected to an electrical grid which is not yet being mobilised and is desparately looking for others donors worldwide.
The art gallery is making good steps in developing this under developed community by pumping some of their proceedings into the community development initiatives.
